## Passende Unterstützung und Begleitung

Die Grossmutter macht mit Benji und Mia einen Spaziergang zum Bauernhof. Dort besuchen sie die Ziegen und die Esel, die sie gerne füttern möchten. Der Ausflug bietet eine ideale Gelegenheit für die Kinder, um zu erfahren, was die Tiere gerne fressen, wie man das Futter besorgt und wie man die Tiere füttern kann. Um dies zu lernen, ist es für Benji und Mia am besten, wenn sie es selbst ausprobieren und somit ihre eigenen Erfahrungen sammeln können. Denn Kinder können nicht von aussen „gebildet“ werden, sondern sie sind aktive Gestalter ihrer eigenen Bildungsprozesse. Durch Beobachten, Nachahmen, Ausprobieren, Fragen, sich Austauschen, Wiederholen eignen sich kleine Kinder ihr Wissen über die Welt an. Dazu brauchen sie jedoch aufmerksame und verlässliche Erwachsene, die sie in ihrem individuellen Lernen begleiten und unterstützen. So beantwortet die Grossmutter einerseits Benjis Frage, was ein Tier fressen dürfe. Andererseits lässt sie die beiden Kinder selbst Erfahrungen sammeln. Selbständig pflücken diese das Gras und reichen es den Tieren. Bei der kleinen Mia ist die Grossmutter zu Beginn noch etwas vorsichtig. Sie führt ihre Enkelin an der Hand und begleitet sie beim Gras Holen. Das Verhalten der Grossmutter dient Mia als Vorbild. Mia kann genau beobachten, wie das Gras aus Grossmutters Hand ins Maul des Tieres gelangt. Das Beobachten und Nachahmen ist eine wichtige Lernstrategie von Kleinkindern. Durch die Wiederholungen wird Mia zunehmend sicherer und selbständiger.

Begeistert läuft Mia immer wieder zur Futterquelle und holt neues Gras für die Tiere. Aufmerksam beobachtet sie, wie die Tiere das Gras aus ihrer Hand fressen. So erweitert Mia ihr Wissen über Esel und Ziegen anhand der konkreten Situation. Wichtig ist dabei, dass Mias Lernerfahrungen einen Bezug zu ihrer Lebenswirklichkeit haben, also zu dem, was das Mädchen direkt im Alltag erlebt und was es beschäftigt.

## Sprachliche Begleitung

Die Grossmutter spricht viel mit den Kindern. Auch wenn Mia noch nicht mit Worten antworten kann, weiss die Grossmutter, dass ihre Enkelin sie gut versteht. Informativ sind dabei nicht nur die Worte, sondern auch der Tonfall und die begleitende Mimik. Für Kinder ist es wichtig, dass die Erwachsenen von Beginn an mit ihnen sprechen und auch ihren inneren Monolog in Worte fassen. Nur so ist es für Kinder möglich, nicht allein die Sprache, sondern auch das Schmieden und Umsetzen von kleinen und grossen Plänen zu lernen.

Mia verwendet selber noch wenige Worte. Doch sie hat schon andere Bestandteile von Sprache gelernt. Sie weiss z.B., dass sich die Sprachmelodie einer Aussage anders anhört als bei einer Frage. Das kleine Wort „da“ nutzt sie, um sich auszudrücken, in ebendiesen verschiedenen Variationen. Ihre Begeisterung drückt sie mit einem Lachen aus, genauso, wie es auch die Grossmutter tut. Mithilfe dieser unterschiedlichen Ausdrucksformen kann sich Mia mit der Grossmutter und ihrem Bruder verständigen. Ihre Sprache erweitert sie durch das intensive Kommunizieren mit anderen.

## Anregungsreiche Lernumgebung

Kinder haben das Bedürfnis nach Anregung. Diese erhalten sie von Erwachsenen und von anderen Kindern, aber auch von andern Lebewesen, von Materialien und Räumen, welche sie umgeben. Mit Räumen sind dabei nicht nur Innenräume, sondern auch Aussenräume und die Verbindungen dazwischen gemeint. Viele Orte im Nah-Umfeld können Kindern wertvolle Lerngelegenheiten bieten, wo sie auf Entdeckungsreise gehen können. Der Supermarkt, die Post, die Fahrt mit dem Bus, der Spielplatz, der Park oder der Wald können für Kinder genauso interessant sein wie der Bauernhof mit den Tieren. Gute Lernorte bieten vielfältige Gelegenheiten, welche die Kinder und deren Neugier herausfordern, sie aber weder intellektuell noch emotional überfordern.

## Appropriate support

Benji und Mia’s grandmother takes a walk with them to the farm. They visit the goats there and the donkey, which they would like to feed. This excursion provides an ideal opportunity for the children to experience what animals like to eat and how to find food for them and feed them. To learn this, it is best for Benji and Mia if they try things out themselves and thus acquire their own experience. For children cannot be “educated” from the outside; they are active shapers of their own learning processes., Children acquire their knowledge of the world around them through observing, imitating, trying things out, asking questions, exchanging information and repeating. But for this they need attentive and reliable adults who monitor and support them in their individual learning. Here, their grandmother answers Benji’s questions about what the animals are allowed to eat. But she also lets the two children gather their own experience. On their own they pick grass and offer it to the animals. With little Mia, her grandmother is somewhat cautious at first: she leads her by the hand and goes with her to pick grass. Her behavior serves as a role model for Mia. Now Mia can watch carefully how the grass in her grandmother’s hand gets into the animal’s mouth. For young children, observing and imitating are important learning strategies. Through repetition, Mia becomes increasingly more confident and independent.

With enthusiasm, Mia goes again and again to grassy area and gets new grass for the animals. She watches carefully how the animals eat the grass from her hand. She is expanding her knowledge about donkeys and goats based on this concrete situation. It is important here that Mia’s learning experiences are related to her reality—that is, to what she directly experiences in her everyday life and to her concerns.

## Language support

The grandmother talks with her grandchildren a lot. Even though Mia cannot yet answer with words, her grandmother knows that her granddaughter understands her well. Not only what she says but also how she says it—her tone of voice and her accompanying facial expressions—help Mia understand her. For children it is important that adults talk to them from the very start and that they also express their inner monologues in words. This is the only way children learn not just language but also how to make and implement small and big plans.

Mia only uses a few words herself . But she has already learned other components of language. For example, she knows that the intonation of a statement is different than that intonation of a question. She uses the word “_da_” (or “here”) in different variations to express herself. She expresses her enthusiasm with a laugh, just as her grandmother does. Using these different forms of expression Mia can communicate with her grandmother and her brother. She expands her language skills through intensive communication with others.

## Stimulating learning environment

Children need stimulation. They receive it from adults and other children but also from other living things, from materials and from their surroundings. These surroundings include not only interior spaces but also exterior spaces and the connections between them. Many places in the vicinity of their homes offer children valuable opportunities for learning and discovery. The supermarket, post office, a ride on a bus, the playground, park or wood can be just as interesting as a farm and farm animals. Good places for learning offer diverse things that spark children’s curiosity and are challenging but not overwhelming either intellectually or emotionally.

## Un accompagnement et un soutien adaptés

Benji et Mia se promènent avec leur grand-mère à la ferme. Ils rendent visite aux chèvres et aux ânes, à qui ils aimeraient bien donner à manger. Cette sortie constitue une parfaite occasion pour les enfants d’apprendre ce que les animaux mangent, comment on se procure la nourriture et comment on peut les nourrir. Le mieux pour l’apprendre, c’est que Benji et Mia s’y essaient eux-mêmes et puissent faire leurs propres expériences. Car les enfants ne peuvent pas être «formés» de l’extérieur, ils sont des concepteurs actifs de leurs propres processus de formation. Ils s’approprient leur connaissance du monde en observant, en imitant, en essayant, en questionnant, en échangeant des idées et en répétant. Mais ils ont tout de même besoin d’être aidés et accompagnés par des adultes qui soient à la fois fiables et attentifs. La grand-mère répond ainsi à la question de Benji sur ce que mange un animal. Mais en même temps, elle laisse les deux enfants faire leurs propres expériences. Ils cueillent eux-mêmes l’herbe et la tendent aux animaux. Avec la petite Mia, la grand-mère est encore quelque peu prudente au début. Elle tient sa petite fille par la main et l’accompagne pour chercher de l’herbe. L’attitude de sa grand-mère est pour Mia un modèle. Mia peut observer précisément la chèvre «brouter» l’herbe dans la main de sa grand-mère. Observer et imiter est une importante stratégie d’apprentissage chez les jeunes enfants. La répétition permet à Mia de gagner en assurance et en autonomie.

Pleine d’enthousiasme, elle court chercher de l’herbe pour les chèvres. Elle observe attentivement comment celles-ci la mangent dans sa main. Mia élargit ainsi ses connaissances sur les ânes et les chèvres grâce à cette situation concrète. Il est important ici que ces expériences aient un lien avec la vie de Mia, c’est-à-dire avec ce qu’elle voit au quotidien et ce qui la préoccupe.

## L’accompagnement par la parole

La grand-mère parle beaucoup à ses petits-enfants. Même si Mia ne peut pas encore répondre avec des mots, sa grand-mère sait qu’elle la comprend déjà bien. L’information n’est pas seulement véhiculée par les mots mais aussi par le ton et la mimique qui les accompagnent. Il est important pour les enfants que les adultes leur parlent dès le début et mettent des mots sur leur monologue intérieur. Ce n’est qu’ainsi que les enfants apprendront non seulement à utiliser la langue, mais également à élaborer et à mettre en œuvre des plans et des projets.

Mia n’utilise que peu de mots. Mais elle a déjà appris des éléments de langue. Elle sait par exemple que la mélodie et l’intonation d’une affirmation sont différentes de celles d’une question. Elle utilise le mot «là» pour s’exprimer, précisément avec toutes ces variations. Elle exprime son enthousiasme avec un rire, comme le fait d’ailleurs aussi sa grand-mère. A l’aide de ces différentes formes d’expression, Mia peut s’entendre avec sa grand-mère et son frère. Elle enrichit son langage en communiquant de manière intensive avec les autres.

## Un environnement d’apprentissage plein de stimulations

Les enfants ont besoin d’être sollicités. Ils le sont par les adultes, d’autres enfants, mais aussi d’autres êtres vivants, des matériaux et des espaces autour d’eux. Les espaces peuvent être intérieurs mais aussi extérieurs, et il y a aussi le passage de l’un à l’autre. De nombreux endroits à proximité peuvent offrir aux enfants de précieuses possibilités d’apprentissage et leur permettre de faire des voyages d’exploration. Le supermarché, la poste, un déplacement en autobus, l’aire de jeu, le parc ou la forêt peuvent être tout aussi intéressants que la ferme et ses animaux. Les lieux d’apprentissage appropriés sont ceux qui offrent de multiples occasions qui interpellent les enfants et leur curiosité, mais dans lesquels ils ne perdent pied ni sur le plan intellectuel ni sur le plan émotionnel.

## Accompagnamento e sostegno adeguati

La nonna fa una passeggiata verso la stalla con Mia e con Benij. In quel luogo incontrano le capre e gli asini a cui vorrebbero dare da mangiare. L’escursione è per i bambini una straordinaria occasione per capire come si nutrono gli animali, cosa mangiano e come procurare loro il cibo. Per imparare tutto ciò è bene che Benij e Mia possano provare da soli e raccogliere così un insieme di esperienze. I bambini non possono essere “formati” dall’esterno, ma strutturano in modo attivo il loro percorso di apprendimento. I bambini piccoli costruiscono il loro sapere sul mondo attraverso l’osservazione, l’imitazione, la sperimentazione, attraverso domande, scambi e ripetizioni. Per poter fare tutto ciò hanno bisogno di adulti attenti e affidabili, che siano in grado di accompagnarli e di sostenerli nel loro percorso di apprendimento individuale. E’ per tale ragione che, da un lato, la nonna risponde alla domanda di Benij su ciò che possono mangiare gli animali. Da un altro, la nonna permette ai due bambini di fare esperienze per conto loro. I due bambini raccolgono, per conto loro, l’erba e la porgono agli animali. Nel caso della piccola Mia la nonna è ancora un po’ prudente. Quando si tratta di strappare l’erba la nonna accompagna per mano la nipotina. Il comportamento della nonna è per la bambina un esempio da imitare. Mia può osservare con attenzione come l’erba che si trova nelle mani della nonna entri nella bocca dell’animale. L’osservazione e l’imitazione fanno parte delle strategie praticate dai bambini piccoli. E’ attraverso la ripetizione che Mia diventa più sicura e più indipendente.

E’ con entusiasmo che, ripetutamente, Mia va alla ricerca dell’erba da dare agli animali. Osserva con grande attenzione come gli animali mangiano l’erba prendendola dalle sue mani. E’ in quel modo che Mia amplia, in modo concreto, le sue conoscenze sulle capre e sugli asini. In simili circostanze è importante che le esperienze di apprendimento siano in rapporto con la realtà esistenziale, vale a dire con ciò che interessa e vive la bambina nella quotidianità.

## Accompagnamento linguistico

La nonna parla molto con i bambini. Anche se Mia non riesce ancora a rispondere con le parole, la nonna sa che la nipotina è in grado di capire. Accanto alle parole è il tono della voce e la mimica che contribuiscono a trasmettere l’ informazione. Per i bambini è molto importante che gli adulti sappiano parlare con loro e che sappiano cogliere, sin dall’inizio, il loro monologo interiore. Solo in questo modo è possibile per i bambini imparare la lingua e dare forma a piccoli e grandi progetti. Mia pronuncia ancora poche parole. Ha, tuttavia, appreso alcuni aspetti della lingua. Ha ad esempio capito che il suono di una domanda è diverso da quello di un’affermazione. La piccola parola “qui” viene usata per esprimersi in tutte le possibili variazioni. Manifesta il suo entusiasmo attraverso una risata, esattamente come lo fa la nonna. E’ attraverso queste varie forme espressive che Mia riesce a farsi capire dalla nonna e dal fratello. Mia riesce ad ampliare la conoscenza della lingua attraverso la comunicazione intensiva con altri.

## Ambiente di apprendimento stimolante

I bambini hanno bisogno di stimoli. Ricevono tali stimoli dagli adulti, da altri bambini, ma anche da altri esseri viventi, da oggetti e da spazi esterni. Sono molti i luoghi dell’ambiente prossimale che consentono al bambino di imparare e di compiere viaggi esplorativi. Il supermercato, la posta, il viaggio con il bus, il parco giochi, oppure il bosco, possono suscitare lo stesso interesse di una visita alla stalla con gli animali. I luoghi sono ottime occasioni di apprendimento e danno modo ai bambini di stimolare la loro curiosità, senza sovrastare le loro capacità mentali ed emotive.
