## Teilhaben und mitwirken

Es ist Znünizeit und der Tisch muss vorbereitet werden. Ein Kind nach dem anderen kommt hinzu, um dabei mitzuhelfen. Während die Spielgruppenleiterin die Spülmaschine ausräumt, tragen die Kinder Geschirr und Essen von der Küche zum Esstisch. Jeder und jede übernimmt eine Aufgabe und die Spielgruppenleiterin traut den Kindern einiges zu.

Durch das Mithelfen dürfen, können die Kinder in vielerlei Hinsicht profitieren. Indem sie etwas gemeinsam für die Gemeinschaft tun, lernen sie, Verantwortung zu übernehmen und als Team zu arbeiten. Sie erleben, dass sie Teil einer Gruppe sind. Indem sie mitmachen und wissen, was zu tun ist – genau wie die anderen –, fühlen sie sich zugehörig. Diese Gefühle der Zugehörigkeit und Vertrautheit helfen den Kindern, sich mit andern wohl zu fühlen.

Wie stolz die Kinder über ihr vollbrachtes Werk sind, zeigt sich in der Frage von Hannah: „Wer hat den Tisch so schön gedeckt?“ Alle haben etwas zu dem gelungenen Ganzen beigetragen.

## Erfahrungslernen im Alltag des Kindes

Die Kinder decken den Tisch nicht zum ersten Mal. Diese Aufgabe gehört zu den täglich gleichen Abläufen in der Spielgruppe. Alle wissen, was auf den Tisch kommt und wo was hingestellt wird. Die Kinder fühlen sich kompetent. Diese immer wiederkehrenden Abläufe helfen, sich zu orientieren und die Übersicht über das Geschehen zu behalten.

Beim Tischdecken darf auch mal ein Glas zu Boden fallen. Das Geschirr ist robust und hält es aus. Fehler und Missgeschicke gehören zum Lernen dazu. Mit jeder Gelegenheit, bei der Kinder alltägliche Dinge selbst tun können, gelangen sie zunehmend zur Selbständigkeit. Dabei ist es wichtig, dass Bezugspersonen von Kleinkindern eine Haltung einnehmen, die auch Fehlern einen Platz im Lernprozess einräumt. Fehler sind als Chance zur Verbesserung zu erachten.

Den Kindern reicht es nicht, die Dinge einfach auf den Tisch zu stellen, sondern es gilt auch zu überlegen, wo was hingehört und wer alles beim Znüni anwesend sein wird. Eine gute Gelegenheit, sich im Mitdenken sowie im Planen und Umsetzen zu üben.

Die Bildungsprozesse von kleinen Kindern sind immer an konkrete, alltägliche Situationen gebunden. Wie man sorgsam mit Geschirr umgeht, wie man den Tisch deckt, sodass jede Person ein Gedeck hat, und wie man als Team zusammenarbeitet, lernen Kinder nicht alleine durch Erklärungen. Sie lernen anhand von konkreten Alltagserfahrungen.

## Participating and contributing

It is time for morning snack at play group, and the table has to be made ready. One child after the other comes to help. While the play group teacher empties the dishwasher, the children carry the dishes and foods from the kitchen to the table. Each child takes on a task, and the teacher lets them do quite a lot.

By being allowed to help, the children benefit in many different ways. By doing something for the good of the group they learn to take responsibility and to work as a team. They feel part of a group. By taking part and knowing what needs to be done—as the others do—each child has a sense of belonging. The feelings of belonging and familiarity help children to be comfortable with others.

Just how proud the children are of their work can be seen in Hannah’s question, when she asks who did such a nice job of setting the table. Everyone has contributed to the great success.

## Experiential learning in the child’s everyday life

This is not the first time that the children have set the table. Setting the table is one of the regular activities at play group. All the children know what goes on the table and where. The children feel capable of executing this. Regularly recurring activities like this one help children to find orientation and gain an overview of events.

When they set the table, it is alright if a glass falls to the floor; the glassware is sturdy and not easily broken. Mistakes and mishaps are a part of learning. With every opportunity to perform everyday tasks by themselves, children gain increasing independence. It is important here that adults caring for young children maintain the attitude that mistakes are a part of the learning process. Mistakes should be seen as an opportunity to improve.

The children do not consider it enough to simply put the things on the table. They consider where each item belongs and who will be at the table for morning snack. This is a good opportunity to practice thinking, planning and execution.

Learning processes in young children are always connected with concrete, everyday situations. Explanations alone do not teach children how to handle glassware carefully, how to set a table so that everyone has a place setting and how to work as a team. They learn on the basis of concrete everyday experience.

## Participer et collaborer

C’est la pause du matin et il faut préparer la table. Un enfant après l’autre, tous viennent pour y participer. Pendant que la responsable du groupe de jeu vide le lave-vaisselle, les enfants apportent la vaisselle et les aliments de la cuisine à la table destinée aux repas. Chacun et chacune assume une tâche et, dans une large mesure, la responsable des groupes de jeu fait confiance aux enfants.

Du fait qu’ils sont autorisés à aider, les enfants peuvent tirer profit de la situation à de nombreux égards. En faisant quelque chose ensemble pour la collectivité, ils apprennent à assumer des responsabilités et à travailler comme une équipe. Ils font l’expérience du fait qu’ils font partie d’un groupe. Parce qu’ils participent et savent ce qu’il faut faire – comme les autres –, ils éprouvent un sentiment d’appartenance. Ce sentiment ainsi que la familiarité au sein d’un groupe aident les enfants à se sentir bien avec les autres.

Les enfants sont fiers de leur travail, et cela se manifeste dans la question que pose Hannah: «Qui est-ce qui a si bien mis la table?» Chacun a apporté sa contribution à la réussite de l’ensemble.

## L’apprentissage par l’expérience dans le quotidien de l’enfant

Ce n’est pas la première fois que les enfants mettent la table. Cette tâche fait partie des processus que le groupe de jeu déroule quotidiennement de manière identique. Tous les enfants savent ce que l’on doit mettre sur la table et où le placer. Les enfants se sentent compétents. Ces tâches récurrentes les aident à s’orienter et à avoir une vue d’ensemble sur ce qui se passe.

Quand on met la table, il peut arriver qu’un verre tombe par terre. Il est solide et ne se brise pas. Faire des erreurs et être maladroit, cela fait partie de l’apprentissage. Chaque occasion où les enfants peuvent faire eux-mêmes quelque chose au quotidien les aide à développer leur autonomie. Il est à cet égard important que les personnes de référence des jeunes enfants adoptent une attitude qui laisse de la place pour les erreurs dans le processus d’apprentissage. Les erreurs doivent être considérées comme une possibilité de s’améliorer.

Pour les enfants, simplement mettre les choses sur la table ne suffit pas. Ils veulent encore réfléchir à l’endroit où placer ceci ou cela et se demandent qui sera là à la pause. C’est là une bonne occasion de s’entraîner à la réflexion, à la planification et à la mise en œuvre.

Les processus de formation des jeunes enfants sont toujours liés à des situations concrètes et quotidiennes. Pour que les enfants apprennent comment manipuler avec soin de la vaisselle, comment on prépare la table pour que chacun ait un couvert, et comment collaborer au sein d’une équipe, il ne suffit pas de le leur expliquer. Ils apprennent au moyen d’expériences quotidiennes concrètes.

## Prendere parte e collaborare

E’ il momento della merenda e bisogna apparecchiare la tavola. Un dopo l’altro i bambini danno il loro contributo. Mentre la responsabile del gruppo ludico toglie le stoviglie dalla lavastoviglie, i bambini portano il vasellame e il cibo dalla cucina al tavolo da pranzo. Ogni bambino e ogni bambina svolgono un compito e la responsabile del gruppo ludico dà loro fiducia.

Aiutando, i bambini hanno numerose occasioni per imparare. Nel momento in cui fanno qualche cosa per gli altri imparano ad assumere certe responsabilità e a lavorare per il team. Imparano a capire che sono parte di un gruppo. Dal momento che possono partecipare, e sanno cosa c’è da fare, provano il sentimento di appartenenza. I sentimenti di fiducia e di appartenenza mettono il bambino a suo agio.

Hannah manifesta il sentimento di orgoglio di fronte al lavoro compiuto: “Chi ha apparecchiato la tavola così bene?”. Tutti hanno dato il loro contributo al buon risultato.

## Imparare dall’esperienza nella quotidianità del bambino

Non è prima volta che i bambini apparecchiano. E’ un compito che fa parte del programma giornaliero del gruppo ludico. Tutti sanno cosa deve andare in tavola e come deve essere apparecchiato. I bambini si sentono competenti. Questo scadenza, che si ripete sempre nello stesso modo nel tempo, favorisce l’orientamento e aiuta a consolidare una visione d’insieme su ciò che capita.

Apparecchiando è possibile che qualche volta cada un bicchiere. Il vasellame è solido e resistente. Tuttavia errori e manipolazioni sbagliate sono parte dell’apprendimento. Qualsiasi circostanza nella quale i bambini hanno l’occasione di poter fare le cose da soli, favorisce in modo crescente la loro autonomia. E’ perciò importante che le persone di riferimento che si occupano dei bambini piccoli adottino un atteggiamento che conceda spazio all’errore nel processo d’apprendimento. Gli errori sono da considerare occasioni per migliorare.

Per i bambini non è sufficiente mettere le cose sul tavolo, per loro è anche importante sapere dove vanno e chi sarà presente alla merenda. Una buona occasione per esercitarsi a pensare, pianificare e realizzare insieme.

La formazione dei bambini piccoli è sempre connessa a situazioni concrete della quotidianità. Non è attraverso le spiegazioni che i bambini piccoli imparano a capire come si maneggia il vasellame, come si apparecchia affinché ogni singola persona abbia le sue stoviglie e come si lavora in team. I bambini imparano alla luce di esperienze vissute nella quotidianità.
