## Ganzheitliches Lernen

Melina hat den Korb voller Wäscheklammern entdeckt und krabbelt zielstrebig und neugierig darauf zu. Für Melina ist noch vieles neu und jede Kleinigkeit muss intensiv erkundet werden. Kleine Kinder werden mit einem Lerntrieb geboren. Ihr Wissensdurst und ihre Neugierde motivieren sie, auch erhebliche Anstrengungen auf sich zu nehmen, um die Welt um sie herum zu entdecken. Melina erforscht die Wäscheklammern mit all ihren Sinnen. Mit ihren Händen greift sie nach der Schnur, an der einzelne Klammern befestigt sind, und wirft sie dann fort. Sie greift in den Korb, nimmt einzelne Klammern in ihre Hände und lässt sie wieder fallen. Dabei hört sie die Geräusche, die die Klammern machen, wenn sie auf den Boden oder zurück in den Korb fallen oder wenn sie selbst mit ihren Händen in den Wäscheklammern wühlt. Sie beobachtet, wie sich die Mutter eine Handvoll Kammern nimmt. Sie spürt die schwarze Klammer mal in der einen, mal in der anderen Hand. Indem Melina sich die Klammer in den Mund steckt, spürt sie den Gegenstand mit ihren Lippen und schmeckt ihn mit ihrer Zunge. Durch das Zubeissen testet sie die Festigkeit des Materials. Anhand dieser Erkundungen eignet sich Melina mehr und mehr Wissen über die Dinge, die sie umgeben, an. Solche Momente der ungestörten und interessegeleiteten Exploration (Erforschen, Untersuchen) sind für die kindlichen Entwicklungs- und Lernprozesse sehr wertvoll. Die Mutter lässt Melina in aller Ruhe ihrer Forschungstätigkeit nachgehen. Sie ist aufmerksam in ihrer Nähe, steht im Blickkontakt mit Melina, reagiert auf ihre Signale. Die Mutter greift nicht ein. Einzig als Melina den kleinen Knopf entdeckt, der für sie gefährlich werden könnte, entfernt sie diesen sofort. Und schon darf Melina wieder auf Erkundung gehen.

## „Hundert Sprachen“ der Kinder

Kleine Kinder drücken ihre Bedürfnisse, Gefühle und Gedanken auf unterschiedliche Arten aus. Melina nutzt ihre Stimme, um ihren Gefühlen Ausdruck zu verleihen. Die Mutter hört diese Äusserungen ihrer Tochter und antwortet ihr mit ähnlichen Lauten und Blickkontakt. So gibt sie Melina zu verstehen: „Ja, ich bin da und habe dich gehört!“

Melina hat erkennbar Freude beim Erkunden der Wäscheklammern. Aufgeregt strampelt sie mit den Beinen, macht grosse Augen und gibt laute Töne von sich, welche sie immer wieder wiederholt. Auch ein kurzes Lächeln ist in ihrem Gesicht zu erkennen.

## Physisches und psychisches Wohlbefinden

Kleine Kinder können dann neugierig und aktiv sein, wenn sie sich physisch und psychisch wohl fühlen. Durch die Anwesenheit der vertrauten und verlässlichen Mutter fühlt sich Melina auch in der Umgebung der Waschküche sicher. Das Gefühl der Sicherheit wird bestärkt durch den Austausch von Blicken und Lauten zwischen dem Mädchen und seiner Mutter. So kann Melina in diesem geschützten Rahmen in aller Ruhe die Wäscheklammern erforschen.

## Holistic learning

Melina discovers the basket full of clothespins and crawls to it purposefully and full of curiosity. Lots of things are new to Melina, and every little thing has to be explored intensively. Young children are born with the drive to learn. Motivated by their thirst for knowledge and their curiosity, they put a lot of effort into discovering the world around them. Melina examines the clothespins with all of her senses. With her hands, she grasps the string to which some clothespins are attached, and throws it to the floor. She reaches into the basket, takes clothespins in her hands and then drops them. She listens to the sounds that the clothespins make when they fall on the floor or into the basket or when she rummages in the basket. She watches her mother take a handful of clothespins. She feels the black clothespin in one hand and then in the other. By putting the clothespin in her mouth, she can feel it with her lips and taste it with her tongue. By biting on it, she tests the strength of the material. Through all of this exploration, Melina gains more and more knowledge about the things around her. Moments like this, when children explore (investigate, examine) things undisturbed and guided by their own interests, are very important for their development and learning. Melina’s mother allows Melina to engage freely in her exploration activity. She is attentive and nearby—maintaining eye contact with Melina and responding to her signals—but she does not interrupt. She only steps in when Melina finds a small button that could be dangerous; she removes the button immediately. After that, Melina is allowed to continue with her activity.

## Children express themselves in many ways

Young children express their needs, feelings and thoughts in a variety of ways. Melina uses her voice to express her feelings. Her mother hears her sounds and answers her with similar sounds and with eye contact. This tells Melina, “Yes, I am here, and I hear you.“

It is clear that Melina enjoys her investigation of the clothespins. She is excited and pedals her legs, makes big eyes and makes sounds that she repeats again and again. She also smiles a little smile.

## Physical and emotional well-being

Young children can be curious and active when they feel well both physically and emotionally. The familiar, reliable presence of her mother gives Melina a sense of security in the surroundings of the laundry room. This feeling of security is reinforced by the exchange of eye contact and sounds between the little girl and her mother. In this protected setting, Melina can freely and calmly go about exploring the clothespins.

## Un apprentissage global

Melina vient de découvrir le panier plein de pinces à linge et elle rampe avec attention et pleine de curiosité dans sa direction. Pour Melina, il y a encore beaucoup de choses nouvelles et elle explore la moindre d’entre elles avec une grande attention. L’envie d’apprendre est innée chez les jeunes enfants. Leur soif de connaissances et leur curiosité les motivent à s’imposer de très grands efforts pour découvrir le monde autour d’eux. Melina explore les pinces à linge à l’aide de tous ses sens. Elle attrape le lacet auquel les pinces sont fixées, puis le lance loin d’elle. Elle plonge la main dans le panier, prend quelques pinces dans ses mains et les laisse retomber. Elle entend le bruit qu’elles font en touchant le sol ou en retombant dans le panier, ou encore lorsqu’elle fouille dans le tas. Elle regarde sa mère prendre une poignée de pinces. Elle sent le contact d’une pince noire dans une main, puis dans l’autre. En portant une pince à sa bouche, Melina sent son contact sur ses lèvres et son «goût» sur sa langue. Elle fait l’expérience de la solidité de la matière en mordant la pince. Ces explorations permettent à Melina de s’approprier de plus en plus de connaissances sur les choses qui l’entourent. Ces moments d’exploration libre, de recherche et d’examen, où l’enfant est motivé uniquement par son intérêt pour les choses, sont très précieux pour les processus de développement et d’apprentissage. Sa mère laisse Melina poursuivre en toute tranquillité son exploration. Elle se tient à proximité, attentive, garde un œil sur sa fille et réagit aux signaux de celle-ci. La mère n’intervient pas. Ce n’est que lorsque Melina découvre le petit bouton qui pourrait être dangereux pour elle que sa mère l’enlève immédiatement. Et Melina peut déjà se replonger dans son activité d’exploration.

## Les «mille et une langues» des enfants

Les jeunes enfants expriment leurs besoins, sentiments et pensées de différentes manières. Melina utilise sa voix pour donner une expression à ses sentiments. Sa mère l’entend et lui répond avec des sons analogues tout en gardant un contact visuel avec elle. Elle indique ainsi à Melina qu’elle est là et qu’elle l’a entendue.

Melina éprouve visiblement du plaisir à examiner les pinces à linge. Toute excitée, elle bat des jambes, fait les gros yeux et fait des vocalises qu’elle répète infatigablement. Un bref sourire se dessine même sur son visage.

## Bien-être physique et psychique

Les jeunes enfants peuvent se livrer activement à leur curiosité s’ils se sentent bien, sur les plans physique et psychique. La présence familière de sa mère, en qui elle a entièrement confiance donne à Melina un sentiment de bien-être, même dans la buanderie. Le sentiment de sécurité est renforcé par l’échange de regards et de sons entre la petite fille et sa mère. Dans ce cadre protégé, Melina peut ainsi examiner les pinces à linge en toute tranquillité.

## Apprendimento olistico

Melina ha scoperto il cesto colmo di mollette per i panni, e gattona, in modo determinato e con curiosità, verso l’obiettivo. Molte cose sono nuove per Melina e ogni piccolezza deve essere esaminata attentamente. I bambini nascono con l’istinto dell’apprendimento. La loro sete di sapere e la loro curiosità li spingono a intraprendere percorsi faticosi per poter scoprire il mondo che li circonda. Melina esplora le mollette con tutti i sensi. Con le sue mani prende la corda a cui sono appese, per poi staccarle e gettarle lontano. Cerca nel cesto e prende in mano singole mollette per poi lasciarle cadere. Così facendo sente il rumore delle mollette che cadono sul pavimento, oppure nel cesto, oppure ancora quando fruga con le mani nel cesto.

Melina osserva come la mamma prende una mano piena di mollette. Melina esplora la molletta nera una volta con una mano, la volta dopo con l’altra. Nel momento in cui Melina mette in bocca la molletta, avverte attraverso le labbra, la durezza dell’oggetto e con la sua lingua il gusto. Con i denti avverte la consistenza del materiale. Tramite queste esplorazioni Melina riesce, gradualmente, a conoscere le cose che la circondano. Momenti di esplorazione indisturbata (ricercare, analizzare) come quelli descritti, sono di grande importanza per lo sviluppo e per i processi di apprendimento del bambino. La madre concede, con calma, a Melina la possibilità di dare seguito al suo desiderio esplorativo. La mamma le sta accanto con attenzione, stabilisce il contatto visivo con Melina, reagisce ai suoi segnali. La allontana solo nel momento in cui Melina scopre il bottone che può diventare pericoloso. Subito dopo, Melina, può continuare nella sua esplorazione.

## “Cento linguaggi” dei bambini

I bambini piccoli manifestano in vari modi le loro esigenze, i loro sentimenti e i loro pensieri. Melina sfrutta la sua voce per dare forma ai suoi sentimenti. La madre ascolta queste manifestazioni e risponde con le medesime esclamazioni e tramite il contatto visivo. Così facendo permette a Melina di capire: ”Sì, sono qui e ho sentito!”

E’ visibile la gioia provata da Melina mentre esplora le mollette della lavanderia. Eccitata muove le gambe, apre gli occhi e lancia toni acuti, che ripete più volte. Sul suo viso è possibile riconoscere un breve sorriso.

## Benessere fisico e psichico

I bambini piccoli riescono ad essere attivi nel momento in cui si sentono a loro agio dal punto di vista fisico e psichico. Attraverso la presenza di una madre affidabile e premurosa, Melina si sente sicura in un contesto ambientale com’è quello della lavanderia. Lo scambio di sguardi e di varie espressioni vocali tra la bambina e la madre rafforzano il sentimento di sicurezza. In un contesto ambientale protetto come questo Melina può tranquillamente esplorare le mollette della biancheria.
